We
make certain your stainless steel parts are squeaky clean
Passivation is a surface
treatment that prepares stainless steel parts for sensitive applications.
Think of it as a special bath for your parts, designed to improve corrosion
resistance.
When
done correctly, passivation helps to:
Provide a clean,
non-rusting stainless steel surface.
Optimize corrosion resistance by removal of surface contaminants,
primarily iron, but also sodium, calcium, sulfate, phosphate, chloride
and other anodic impurities resulting from exposure to the environment
and from processing.
Maximize the Cr/Fe ratio in the protective oxide film.
Experience
the
American Bright Works Advantage:
Quality Process
The passivation processes of American Bright Works use only semiconductor
grade nitric acid. Precision parts receive a final monitored deionized
water rinse and are packaged under filtered air.
Fast-Pass Service
We provide rapid and economical passivation services as a standard.
Qualified for Medical
Industry
In addition to meeting industry standard specifications (QQ-P-35 C &
ASTM A-967), our plant has made specific adaptations to meet the requirements
of major medical manufacturers.
Meeting the Needs
of Other Industries
Weve developed a specialty for the passivation of the difficult
400 series alloys, including the very sensitive 440C series which has
been Electrical Discharge Machined. These parts, frequently used by the
computer industry, are susceptible to etching if conditions are not closely
monitored.
Post-Environmental
Testing
Upon request, we will conduct post-environmental testing for confirmation
of passivation. Our testing capabilities include salt fog, high humidity
and water immersion to corroborate success.
